Description

Light and flaky biscuits made with just three simple ingredients, perfect for any meal or occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Add the self-rising flour to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually stir in the buttermilk, mixing just until combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead a few times.
  6. Pat the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut out biscuits with a round cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use cold butter and preheat the oven properly. These biscuits can be made in an air fryer as well.
