- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Add the self-rising flour to a large mixing bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually stir in the buttermilk, mixing just until combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead a few times.
- Pat the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut out biscuits with a round cutter.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For best results, use cold butter and preheat the oven properly. These biscuits can be made in an air fryer as well.
