- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings

Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the patties on the hot grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
- Flip the burgers, then add a slice of cheese on top of each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until desired doneness.
- Toast your burger buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.
