Description

A comforting and flavorful garlic butter focaccia with a golden crust and fluffy interior, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh rosemary (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine flour and salt in a large mixing bowl; create a well and pour in yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet; gently spread it to fill the sheet.
  7. In a small saucepan, melt butter and add minced garlic over low heat.
  8. Brush the garlic butter onto the dough and sprinkle with rosemary and flaky sea salt, if desired.
  9. Let the dough rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crisp on top.
  11. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
