Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
- Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- Beat in the egg until evenly blended.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the caramel bits and chocolate chips (if using).
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
