- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- Combine the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl; gradually fold into the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, chopped nuts, and shredded coconut.
- Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
