- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in chopped cranberries and orange zest.
- Whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
- Cut into wedges and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Whisk together powdered sugar and orange juice for glaze and drizzle over warm scones.

Notes
You can prepare the dough a day in advance and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake. These scones can also be air-fried for a crispier finish.
