Description

Light and airy dinner rolls with a golden crust, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan until warm.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients along with the eggs.
  4. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  7. Punch down the dough and roll into balls, then arrange in a greased baking dish.
  8. Allow the rolls to rise again, covered, until puffy (30-45 minutes).
  9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush the warm rolls with melted butter before serving, if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the dough and refrigerate after the first rise. Let it come to room temperature before rolling.
