Description

Delicious homemade donut sticks, drizzled with maple glaze and featuring crispy bacon for a savory twist. Perfect for brunch or breakfast gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 6 strips of crispy bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the milk, melted butter, and egg in another bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the crumbled bacon.
  6. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Mix the powdered sugar with maple syrup to create a glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm donut sticks and serve immediately.

Notes

For make-ahead tips, you can prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate it. Also, feel free to customize flavors with chocolate chips or nuts.
