Description

Delightful homemade blueberry scones that offer a perfect balance of sweet blueberries and buttery goodness, ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Incorporate the cold, cubed butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the fresh blueberries and gently fold them in.
  5. Combine the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  6. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Shape the dough on a floured surface into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  8. Cut the dough into wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use cold butter and avoid overmixing the dough. Can be customized with lemon zest or nuts.
