Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (around 110°F)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Cheese (mozzarella, parmesan, etc.)
- Toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, etc.)
Instructions
- Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Stir lightly to mix evenly.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for about 7-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Once risen, roll out your dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce across the base, followed by a sprinkle of cheese.
- Add your chosen toppings.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese bubbles.
- Slice into pieces and serve hot!
Notes
Make your dough in advance and let it rise overnight in the refrigerator for more flavor. Avoid overloading toppings to maintain a crispy crust.
