Description

A cozy and flavorful one-pot dish featuring shrimp and orzo in a creamy garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, sautéing for about one minute until fragrant.
  2. Toss in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  3. Add the orzo and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-12 minutes until the orzo is tender.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and paprika, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Return the shrimp to the pot, fold in gently, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For added freshness, consider incorporating vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes.
