- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, add the chicken, and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
- Incorporate the orzo: Stir in the orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes, then pour in the chicken broth.
- Bring to a boil: Raise the heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Simmer to perfection: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until the orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Add brightness with broccoli: Stir in broccoli and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Cream & cheese magic: Pour in the heavy cream and add shredded cheese, stirring until combined.
- Serve and enjoy: Dish out warm, garnishing if desired.
