Description

A creamy and comforting one-pot meal featuring tender chicken, orzo pasta, and vibrant broccoli in a rich garlic and cheese sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, add the chicken, and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Incorporate the orzo: Stir in the orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes, then pour in the chicken broth.
  3. Bring to a boil: Raise the heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Simmer to perfection: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until the orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add brightness with broccoli: Stir in broccoli and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  6. Cream & cheese magic: Pour in the heavy cream and add shredded cheese, stirring until combined.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Dish out warm, garnishing if desired.

Notes
