Description

Experience the magic of freshly baked cinnamon rolls made with an easy overnight method for rich flavor and fluffy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt until well mixed.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, create a blend by whisking together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with dry ingredients and stir with a rubber spatula until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.
  6. Roll Out the Dough: The next morning, turn the chilled dough out onto your floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Add Filling: Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  8. Roll and Slice: Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 12 equal rolls.
  9. Second Rise: Cover the dish and let the rolls rise in a warm place for about an hour until puffy.
  10. Preheat & Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Make the Glaze: While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth glaze.
  12. Glaze the Rolls: Once baked, let the rolls cool slightly before drizzling the glaze generously over them.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and allow adequate time for rising.
