- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for baking
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season each chicken breast with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Prepare three shallow dishes: one for the flour, one for the beaten eggs, and one for the crushed pretzels. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with crushed pretzels.
- Place the coated chicken on a greased baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes until cooked through and golden brown, checking the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Combine cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the cheese melts into a creamy sauce.
- Serve the chicken warm, drizzling the creamy mustard cheddar sauce over the top.
Notes
Make ahead by preparing the chicken and coating in advance. Cook alternatively in an air fryer for a lighter version.
