- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup sliced onions
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Form into four patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then cook patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove the patties and keep warm on a plate.
- Add sliced onions to the same skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in beef broth and soy sauce, whisking continuously until thickened.
- Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer in gravy for about 10 minutes.
- Serve warm, drizzled with gravy and sides like mashed potatoes or vegetables.
Notes
You can prepare the patties a day in advance. Store in the fridge for up to 24 hours before cooking.
