Description
Warm and hearty chili bursting with flavor, perfect for cozy dinners and game nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Begin by heating a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, allowing both to brown together. Stir occasionally until the meat is no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes.
- Once cooked, drain any excess fat to prevent greasiness in your final dish.
- Now introduce the kidney beans, tomato sauce, and chili powder to the pot, followed by the cup of water. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Bring this mix to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let your chili simmer gently for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- When ready, ladle hot chili into bowls and garnish with your favorite toppings if desired.
Notes
Make-ahead: Refrigerate leftovers for up to three days, or freeze for about three months.
