Description

Deliciously sweet and comforting Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls infused with fresh strawberries and warm cinnamon, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt until evenly distributed.
  2. Warm the milk and butter: In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter until melted, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Mix: Pour the milk-butter mixture into the dry ingredients, add the egg, and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Roll the dough: Roll it out into a large rectangle on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  8. Spread butter: Melt additional butter and spread it over the dough.
  9. Cinnamon sugar mixture: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  10. Add strawberries: Evenly distribute the chopped strawberries over the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  11. Roll it up: Tightly roll the dough away from you to create a cylinder.
  12. Cut into pieces: Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch pieces and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  13. Second rise: Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  14. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  15. Prepare the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

Consider using frozen strawberries if fresh ones are unavailable. You can also experiment with different fillings or glazes.
