- 1 loaf of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Butter for greasing
- Powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Slice the bread into thick pieces.
- Layer half the slices in the bottom of the dish.
- Spread the cream cheese evenly over the bread.
- Add the sliced strawberries on top.
- Layer the remaining bread slices over the strawberries.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
- Pour this mixture evenly over the bread layers.
- Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate overnight or for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake covered for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar.
