Description
A vibrant and flavorful dish featuring spaghetti tossed with juicy cherry tomatoes, aromatic garlic, and fresh basil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of pasta (spaghetti or your choice)
- 2 cups of cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your chosen pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water if needed to loosen the dish later.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once glistening, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- Toss in the halved cherry tomatoes, stirring gently. Let them cook for about 5 minutes until they soften and release their juices, creating a fragrant sauce.
- Add your drained pasta to the skillet and toss it with the tomatoes and garlic. If the mixture looks too dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to create a light, silky sauce.
- Stir in the freshly chopped basil. Season generously with salt and pepper according to your taste.
- Plate your pasta immediately, and for those who enjoy an extra touch, generously sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Customize with proteins like grilled chicken or shrimp, or add ricotta for creaminess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
