- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pasta of your choice
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
- Parmesan cheese, grated for serving
Instructions
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add your ground beef. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and let it brown until it develops a nice crust. Drain any excess fat.
- Sauté the Aromatics: Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onions turn translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Build the Sauce: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasonings to taste.
- Simmer to Perfection: Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a small cup of pasta water.
- Plate and Serve: Serve the ragu over pasta with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan on top.
